My life is a story of radical transformation. For years, I navigated a world of trauma, toxic relationships, and untreated mental illness. Seeking validation I never felt as a child, I found myself in a cycle of instability that culminated in a Bipolar diagnosis, a battle with cancer, the tragic loss of my brother, and a descent into IV drug use. I survived domestic violence so severe that it took my life, but by the grace of God, I was brought back.

Hitting rock bottom—facing felony charges, losing my children, and being told I was a lost cause—was the beginning of my awakening. The death of a friend was the catalyst that pushed me to take a leap of faith, get on a plane for the first time, and go to rehab.

That was the best decision I ever made. Today, I have celebrated two years of sobriety. I have repaired the relationship with my parents, and my father now tells me he is proud of me. I have regained custody of my daughter, and I finally walked across the stage to receive my college diploma. I am now pursuing my bachelor's degree in Psychology to further my ability to help others. My faith is the cornerstone of my new life, and my purpose is clear: to show others that no one is too far gone. Through my work as a Certified Peer Specialist, I share my story to prove that recovery isn't just possible—it's a promise waiting to be claimed.
